KaelSite on your Android phone or tablet

The KaelSite app for Android is a construction site app that works with your KaelSite account. You can run inspections, log issues, write notes and add work items, including when you have no signal. This guide shows you what works offline and what needs a connection, so you are never caught out on site.

To check Kael, your AI assistant on your Android phone, see KaelSite for Android: get Kael on Google Play.

To download the app, Get Kaelsite app on Google Play.

What can you do in the KaelSite app?

  • Sign in and see your latest project details
  • Create projects and add team members
  • Add, edit and delete work items
  • Create, edit and delete inspections
  • Log, edit and delete issues
  • Write, edit and delete notes
  • Add and manage reminders
  • Add project documents
  • Keep your own documents, such as certifications, in your profile
  • Edit your profile
  • View your clients and communications
  • Use the checklists you have downloaded
  • Ask Kael, the KaelSite AI assistant, for help

What works offline on Android These tasks work without an internet connection, and KaelSite syncs them when your device is back online:

  • Adding, editing and deleting work items
  • Creating, editing and deleting inspections
  • Logging, editing and deleting issues
  • Writing, editing and deleting notes
  • Adding, editing and deleting reminders
  • Adding your own documents in your profile
  • Viewing project details you have already fetched
  • Viewing checklists you downloaded while online

What needs an internet connection You need to be online to:

  • Fetch your latest data
  • Create a project
  • Add a team member
  • Add a document to a project
  • Edit your profile in settings
  • View or work with your clients and communications
  • Use Kael, the AI assistant, which needs a connection to answer

How syncing works When your Android device reconnects to the internet, KaelSite syncs your offline changes automatically. You don't need to do anything. For best results, keep the app running. You can minimise it or switch to another app and it will still sync, but don't close it completely by swiping it away from your recent apps or force stopping it.

Get ready before you go on site

  1. While you have a connection, open the Projects page so the app fetches all your project details. KaelSite needs this before you can use quick actions or create an inspection for a project.
  2. Open the checklists you expect to use, so they are downloaded and available offline.
  3. Check you are signed in.
  4. Once on site, work as normal. Create your inspections, issues and notes, and let KaelSite sync when you are back in signal.

What's not in the mobile app Some tasks are done in the KaelSite web panel:

  • Reports. The report editor runs in a browser. To draft a report with Kael, open the KaelSite panel in your phone's browser or on a computer. See [Draft a report with Kael].
  • Datasheets.
  • Checklist Studio. You can use the checklists you've already downloaded in the app, but you create and edit templates on the web.
  • Plans and billing. The app opens the KaelSite web panel for these. See the plans page.

Tips for working offline on Android
