Written guide
Every inspection belongs to a work item, so you choose the work item first.
Step 1: Choose the work item and template
- Start a new inspection from My inspections by selecting Start new, or from the work item's card by selecting New inspection.
- Select New inspection on the work item you want to inspect.
- Under Default inspections for this work item, select a suggested inspection to filter the template list.
- Under Checklist template, choose a template. You can pick a template from the library, one of your own from Checklist Studio, or leave it empty to start a notes-only inspection.
- Select Continue.
Step 2: Answer the checklist and save
- If you chose the wrong template, select Change template. This takes you back to the previous page for the same work item.
- (Optional) Set the Inspection Location by typing latitude and longitude, or select Use current location.
- Answer the questions in the Checklist. Questions come in different types, and each one is answered in the way that suits its type. For example, a question may ask you to choose Yes, No or N/A, to write a description, or to upload an image. Questions marked with a red asterisk are required, so you must answer them before you can complete the inspection.
- Under Status & Notes, choose a Status:
- Pending: choose this if the inspection is not finished and you want to come back to it later. You can reopen a Pending inspection and change its questions and details.
- Pass, Fail or Partial: choose one of these only when the inspection is finished. After you save with one of these statuses, the inspection can no longer be edited, including its questions and details.
- (Optional) Set a Next inspection time. KaelSite adds a reminder to your calendar.
- (Optional) Add Site notes, and upload a Signature image if you need one.
- Select Save inspection.
What happens next: you go to the inspection preview page.
