CIF Announces BS 5975:2024 Update Training for Temporary Works Procedures and Falsework Design

The Construction Industry Federation is offering virtual training on the updated BS 5975:2024 (Parts 1 & 2) covering temporary works management procedures and the permissible stress design of falsework. The course supports competence for those involved in temporary works coordination and design.

Training providers continue to roll out courses that help construction professionals stay aligned with the current temporary works standard.
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) has listed a virtual classroom session titled “CIF Temporary Works Procedures and Permissible Stress Design of Falsework BS 5975:2024 Update.” The course is scheduled for 15 December 2026 and focuses on the revised standard that was published at the end of 2024.BS 5975 was split into two parts:
  • BS 5975-1:2024 – Management procedures for the control of temporary works
  • BS 5975-2:2024 – Falsework: Design and implementation
These replace the earlier BS 5975:2019 edition. The training is aimed at helping participants understand the key changes and practical requirements for managing temporary works safely and in line with CDM 2015 duties.
Industry bodies and training organisations have been updating their materials throughout 2025 and 2026 to reflect the stronger emphasis on documentation, role clarity (TWC and TWS), the Temporary Works Register, design checks and permits. Keeping competence current remains important for anyone responsible for temporary works on UK (and related) construction projects.
